'Tallica set list

Well, for those of you who may still be interested in 'Tallica...here's the set list from their gig at the Sundance festival, nothing from Load, Re-Load or St Anger (they must have been paying heed to you Baal), but plenty of good old tunes...
  • Ecstasy Of Gold
  • Creeping Death
  • For Whom The Bell Tolls
  • Wherever I May Roam
  • Fuel
  • Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
  • Sad But True
  • Fade To Black
  • Master Of Puppets
  • One
  • Enter Sandman
  • Last Caress
  • Battery
  • Seek & Destroy

That's an impressive set list, all the better for no feckin' St Anger, Frantic or any other tunes with the snare drum substituted with a tin can.

I heard reports that on Metallica's last brief tour in the States, they played Orion for the first time live - it would be fantastic to hear in Dublin!

Yeah, Orion was played as an opener when 'Tallica supported Strolling Bones, sorry Rolling Stones. Apparently from press reviews it confused the wrinklies rightly, but by half way through the set the zimmer frames were ambling forward for a sedate mosh pit and raising of the horns...

Tickets for the Dublin gig are on sale at a pre-sale thing before Thursday by going to the ticketmaster web thingy and on the pre-sale section the password is escape

Is Fuel not from ReLoad? Otherwise it’s a good setlist alright.

Although far shorter than what they are likely to play in Dublin.

Don’t forget Saxon in Dublin on April 27th.

Also Destruction are headlining the Day of Darkness festival in Co Laois in July.

Good spot! Yep, it's the lead-off track from Re-Load (I plead sobriety as my excuse for the not so deliberate error)

Saxon in April, mmm I remember going to see Saxon at Belfast's Maysfield Leisure Centre in....well it was a helluva long time ago, when half the band still had hair :

Cheers for the note and is there a date for DOD in July?

Cheers for that - when you have a definite line-up let me know

The festival runs over two days. Destruction are playing on Saturday the 8th.

More bands to be added too.

Latest news to emerge from totalrock.com is that Metallica might debut new material at the Download Festival and in Dublin. D'oh. That's a bad sign! But things will be okay when they launch into Master of Puppets... we always forgive them!

It appears from some sites that they will be debuting two new songs and playing some 'old, but long time unheard tracks - I'm voting for Disposable Heroes :)
