Reliable sources...

Ever reliable Belfast Metal Head Reunited sources (ta Sylvia) reminded me that I forgot to mention Motley Crue are supporting Guns 'n' Roses on their 9th June date in Dublin.

Time to start saving!

Call me a cynical old sausage if you must, but does anyone else feel a bit ripped off hearing the news about a sort of G'n'R and Crue playing 2 days before Metallica at the very same venue ?? Given that ticket prices are pretty similar, add in 400 miles to get there and back in petrol, something to eat and a few drinks and that's before you buy a tour t shirt, this is going to work out bloody expensive !! Is the Irish Tourist Board doing a dodgy deal with the promoters on this ?? Speaking of which, what the hell are the promoters doing about getting them a venue in Belfast ?? With recognised names like that, they can't fail to sell out a venue and not lose money. Why not put on a mini Donington that will out class Oxygen in terms of band line up and offer the fans proper value for hard earned money, instead of propping up the heavy metal pension funds/ new Ferrari collection for these 'rock stars'. Have they forgotten so,soon what it was like when they had to struggle to make ends meet I wonder ??

Think they have forgotten that mate - but perhaps it is all not doom and gloom; after all it has been so bloody long since we had such a run of good gigs - as to the weekend of Tallica and Gunners, there are rumours that it is to be announced as Download Dublin....and with Oxygen having Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Who...and with Bon Jovi and Nickleback...and with rumours of DC doing an autumn tour...and with Maiden playing Dub in Nov/Dec...and...and...

On the converse side, I may not be able to go to even a third of gigs/cover bands/Dublin dates/Download/Deep Purple and Cooper at Monsters of Rock/ etc, etc shit its good that these bands are touring.

Rumour went round the bulletin boards earlier today that the Gunners and Crue are to play the Odyssey on the Thursday, bubt not putting much store in that one!
