NEWS: Haters can just feck aff - Metallica are coming back and we don't care what you think cuz we're Hardwired - To Self Destruct

AS a site we try to provide news in an impartial way when we bring you news. Sometimes we just add an introduction and tidy a press release up a bit before publishing it. Sometimes we re-write a press release, but in news terms try and keep it balanced et cetera.

But there are some band's news that we cannot express that sense of remove, so excuse us if we are a little over-excited...

Yes, Metallica have confirmed the release date for their new album. Hell yeah! Fuck yeah!

Cue the people who will now trot out the old lines about "only the first three albums are worth it", or "everything after the 'Black' album is shit".

We care not a whit as our site owner and editor firmly believes in the credo "Birth, School, Metallica, Death". There are others who work on the site who may disagree, but if they do so they may whisper it quietly...

Right, down to brass tacks.

On November 18th, 2016 the long-awaited follow-up to 'Death Magnetic' will land. Entitled 'Hardwired - To Self Destruct' it is a double album of 12 tracks. And, no Rick Rubin producing it (that digital compression on '...Magnetic' is hopefully gone.

Helming production is Greg Fidelman, with James and Lars twiddling the knobs too.

Of course it will come, as always these days in  a bewildering array of formats, but the core track listing is below.

Death Magnetic

Okay, I confess....while there are those that are backsliders I have always kept the faith. Metallica (along with Maiden) have always held a special place in my twisted heart. Quite simply Metallica and Maiden are simply the behemoths that stride above mere mortal bands.

On September 12th Metallica release Death Magnetic. I have taken the morning off work to make sure I have a copy in my grubby mits when the doors of my chosen record emporium are cast open (and it shall not be Zavvi - see last post)

Some doubted the mighty Metallica, but from the three tracks available to date for streaming there is no doubt that James, Lars, Kirk and Rob have delivered an album that stands head, shoulders and sweaty ball bag above all the pretenders.

'Tallica release date...

Total Rock are reporting the worldwide release date for Metallica's new album (Death Magnetic) has been set as September 12th, with simultaneous release on Guitar Hero III:Legends of Rock download.

No doubt some of the tracks will receive an airing on August 20th at Marley Park...and from initial reports Death Magnetic is not only a return to form, but references 'Tallica platters both old and...well older yet :)
